How they look The look of traditional shower doors, but more substantial, with thicker glass and heavy, high-quality frames in stainless steel.
How they feel Thick, substantial glass feels far different than thin, rattling shower doors.
How they last Thick tempered glass from Dulles Glass and Mirror is far less prone to breakage. Strong, quality stainless steel hardware holds the shower together for the long term, unlike low-quality showers with aluminum hardware.
How they clean Stainless steel frames far surpass those of lower quality aluminum for ease of maintenance. To make your shower very easy to keep clean and clear, add ClearShield glass treatment, which bonds with the glass.

Sliding Framed Glass Shower Doors

Always a budget-friendly option to keep pace with glass bathroom trends, our framed sliding shower doors received a facelift for the 21st century, which has seen hardware itself become a designer element.

Choosing the right slider door depends on many factors such as look, budget, and the general theme of the room. Generally speaking the main difference between the two options is the presence (or absence) of a frame around the glass that functions as the sliding door. In a semi frameless slider door the glass is not framed into aluminum excursion and the sides of the glass are frameless, but the top and bottom portion the glass sits in frames which help guide (slide) the door in the tracks. The actual mechanism of the sliding portion of the frame is also different in these options, but it does not contribute to appearance of the enclosure.

The glass thickness option in these enclosures ranges between 1/4" to 1/2", but the most popular glass thickness is 3/8". The most popular type of glass used in these enclosures is clear glass but other options are also available. The frames are available in many different finishes, and should be chosen carefully to match the decor of the rest of the bathroom. We can do a lot of adjustments to these types of enclosures on the field, therefore in most cases if you provide us with the rough opening for the installation site we can provide you with a fairly accurate price range for your options.

Why Choose Our Framed Bypass Sliding Shower Doors

The basic construction of framed sliding shower doors hasn't change much. A sliding framed shower enclosure is made of two glass doors, at either 5/32" or 3/16" thickness, that are each wrapped in sturdy aluminum casing, adding a look of substance to this centerpiece. The aluminum framing reinforces the glass, making it stronger so it doesn't bend or wobble. Then framed glass doors are set onto rollers in both upper and lower tracks. Side frames, or jams, complete the enclosure, snuggly meeting the outer edges of the framed doors to provide a watertight closure. These jams also hide rubber bumpers that will keep the door from crashing into the metal side.

When deciding whether to install (or replace your existing) framed sliding shower doors, keep in mind this product has gotten a bum rap from contractor-grade installations. Lower-quality sliding shower doors aren't installed with glass surface protection (which we offer), the doors rattle when sliding and the track system frequently fails from lower-quality hardware. We do not carry and will not install contractor-grade products.

Our framed sliding shower door products stand out from off-the-shelf retail kits:

  • Our system includes exact overlap doors. The interior glass door frames line up for clean symmetrical lines.
  • Fully assembled, our framed sliding shower doors create a watertight fit to prevent leakage.
  • Intuitive assembly system makes our framed sliding showers easy and quick to install. Our supplier has continued to refine the parts of its system design to perfect your installation.
  • High-end finishes blend with popular bathroom fixtures and can be used as an a crisp accent color for your tile or to add an industrial look with the high-shine of chrome.
  • Our framed sliding shower systems have better quality hardware to add life your investment. For example, larger, heavy-duty rollers make doors slide more smoothly.
  • Finally, like all our glass products, our customers can select a glass protection treatment to prevent hard water stains.
