Glass tabletops are used in a number of different ways, but the most popular is to use the glass to protect the surface of a table, desk, or a coffee table. When used as a cover on a wood surface, normally a thinner glass such as 1/4" is used. The edges of the glass would normally be polished to smooth them out and avoid the possibility of injury from the sharp edges. When glass is used as a wood surface cover there is no need for tempering the glass.
Glass table tops can also be used in situations where the entire surface is made out of glass. The legs can also be made of glass, wood, metal, or any other material. In these instances the glass has to be tempered for safety reasons. Glass thickness has to be more than 3/8". The edges have to be flat polished and possibly beveled depending on preference.
Glass table tops intended to rest directly on furniture do not require an exact measurement and therefore are recommended for online ordering.
Glass table tops are also used on patio tables. Patio tables with glass surface are made in two different ways. First, on some tables the glass piece sits on the legs without the need for metal framing around the edges of the glass. In these patio tables, because the size does not have to be precise, you can measure the size of the glass, call it in for a quote, and place your order for a pick up or delivery.
If you are ordering a glass table top for patio furniture, don't forget to order an umbrella hole if necessary!
In these tables the glass top is wrapped in a metal frame. In these tables, the best way to replace the glass table top is to physically bring in the table for a precise cut and fitting of the glass. This is because the frame bends when the original glass breaks and even a half an inch of discrepancy prevents the new glass top from properly fitting in the frame. We do not recommend at-home estimates and measurements for these types of patio tables, as the difficulty of the measurement at home significantly increases the cost and often results in an improper fit.
Glass table tops that are made to be inserted into an item of furniture or metal frame do require a very exact measurement and possibly professional installation. Custom Cut Glass TopI ordered, on-line, a custom cut piece of glass to protect my desk top. The order process was quite easy. My glass arrived packaged quite safely and in one piece : ) I must comment on the speed and accuracy this order. Table Top GlassWe received our glass in a timely manner but it was broken to pieces when we received it...Didn't even have to open the box...You could hear broken glass moving around when you moved the box...We called Dulles Glass Customer Service and they are shipping out a replacement right away and told us to just throw the broken one away...Very good service and a very good product...

great table topI ordered a tempered glass top, to be inset into an Art Deco hardwood table. The whole process, from ordering to receiving it hardly took a week. It was wonderfully packed and the shipping charge for such a large and heavy item (about 19in by 60in) was exceedingly low. In any case, it fits perfectly and looks great. Since I ordered the tempered glass I am hoping that this will be the last top I have to order. I recommend this firm highly.

Two Glass Custom Table TopsTwo glass table tops arrived promptly and were superbly packed. Only issue with order was an approximately two inch scratch near and parallel to one of the edges of one of the table tops. Little doubt that this occurred during production. However, by placing the table top so that the scratched surface is on the bottom and at a back corner, the scratch is hardly noticeable and therefore not of sufficient bother to compel one to return it. Nonetheless this should have been caught prior to shipment.

Glasstop for tableI ordered two pieces of glass for my console table. I undermeasured just to make sure that the glass pieces would fit in the in-lays but this was not necessary. Dulles measurements were exact. It took about a week from the point of purchase until the two pieces of glass arrived at my door step. I was concerned about breakage since I live all the way in NY, but Dulles secured the glass very well by layering styrofome and packing it tightly in the box; in addition, they included a huge sticker that says, "GLASS" on the outside. Customized GlassThe customization of the glass was perfect. The packaging of the glass was done very well. My only concern is the glass had styrofoam pieces glued/sealed to the glass that I had to remove with googone, and plastic scrapper. Product is good and delivery duraiton was as stated on their web-site - within 7 days. Also received a updated message that the order was in fabrication and when it is expected to ship. The low iron glass looks light green on edges and is not darker green - but is very clear looking from top. Definitely recommended for on-line ordering of custom size table top glass.

Replacement glass top for my wicker tableI searched online many places to find a replacement glass top for my outdoor wicker table. Special Order round glass dining room table topWe have a round solid oak table in our dinette area which we use daily and after three years of being so careful not to set anything on the table, I finally deceided to take the chanch and special order this 45 1/2 inch glass table top cover. They had in stock 45 inch however I needed the 45 1/2 round. I contacted the company and they were great and emailed me right back and told me (yes) they could fulfill my request. I should have done this three years ago!! Just make sure you order the exact size, because they do make your table top that you order right to the exact dimensions you give them. You have a very short waiting time for your order to arrive. The packing was wonderful. Do not wait to order if you have been thinking about protecting your your beautiful table as I said before, I wish I had not waited so long. I also have a beautiful hand made crochet table cloth under the glass and now my table cloth looks wonderful and not getting dirty and most of all my table is protected. I promise you, you will be very happy if you order from this company, as you can see I am a very happy buyer!!
wonderful companyI ordered a table top that was lost in shipping. They shipped the top out quickly, when I received the glass top it was broke. Not by the compan, but by the delivery men. I sent an email and got an imediate response from Sam Degismen. He immediately sent out a new glass top, which the delivery men did not break, and it fit perfect. This is a wonderful company and would recommend everyone to do business with them.
Perfect glass but someone failed to follow instructions, oopsThe piece of glass is perfect EXCEPT, I requested 2 eased corners and received the glass with no eased corners. Time was an issue and could not wait for another piece, so, I requested a credit for the additional easing charge. You apologized, offered to send another piece promptly, and issued the credit forthwith. Thank you. Otherwise, the piece works fine.
