Instead of settling for a standard wall mirror with standard frame styles, create your own artistic mirror to by adding textured, patterned or colored tiles around the edges.
The artist of this mirror (pictured left) repeated a several different tiles around the mirror edge to create an interesting asymmetrical appeal and add texture. Securing the tiles at random distances from the glass edge adds a rustic feel.

- Choose the mirror shape, size, glass quality and glass style that is appropriate for you wall space. Go here to customize your base mirror.
- Start with a basic idea of what you'd like to create. Are there certain colors you're looking for? Is the space flat and in need of texture? Is the area too linear and need an asymmetrical (like this mirror) or circular shape? Do you want a distinct pattern such as leaves or flowers?
- Visit your local tile shop or find an online store.
- Once you've gathered your items, place them around your mirror. Wait a day or two to be sure the arrangement is finalized.
- Use a strong adhesive to secure your tiles in place. Be sure you're adhesive works for glass. An all-purpose bonding agent, liquid nails, Mighty Putty can all do the job, depending on which products you happen to have on hand.
